Program Support

Build programs that people actually trust.

Strengthen what already exists — and make it work better for the people you actually serve. Rethink Trafficking supports teams by bringing a peer-led, reality-based lens to program design and improvement, especially for populations that are often misunderstood, stigmatized, or simply hard to reach.

We’re not here to “rebuild your whole operation” or pretend we know your community better than you do. We plug in as a collaborative partner: helping you refine the pieces that determine whether a program is trusted, used, and sustainable.

What we help with (practical + collaborative)
  • Peer-led program shaping: structure roles, boundaries, and support so peer models are safe, credible, and effective

  • Reach + engagement strategy: improve how people find you, trust you, and stay connected—without moral panic or stigma

  • Program tuning for unique populations: help adapt services for groups that don’t fit standard models (e.g., LGBTQ+ communities, men/boys, justice-involved, survival economies, mixed-status families)

  • Workflow clarity: tighten intake → referral → follow-up so cases don’t drop and staff aren’t reinventing the wheel

  • Messaging + partner alignment: get staff, leadership, and referral partners using the same definitions and expectations

What makes our angle different
  • Peer-led experience: we’ve spent years building and advising peer-informed approaches—not as a buzzword, but as a practical method.

  • Hard-to-reach populations: we’re comfortable in the messy middle—where “best practices” often don’t map cleanly onto real life.

  • Reality-based tone: clear federal definitions, lived experience, and data—without sensationalism.

Let’s build trust, reach, and staying power—together.

FAQ

What’s your experience with program development?
We’ve helped strengthen peer-led programs serving unique, often stigmatized populations—where credibility and access matter as much as services.

What does that look like in practice?
One example: supporting a sex worker–led LA chapter from fiscal sponsorship (pre-501(c)(3)) to a ~$250K/year operation with multiple streams—direct outreach, support groups, advocacy/lobbying, and research projects.

Do you build full programs from scratch?
Usually no. Our sweet spot is strengthening and shaping what you already have—especially engagement, peer integration, and program fit for unique populations.

Are you the “consultant who writes a giant report and disappears”?
No. We aim for lightweight, usable outputs: clearer workflows, better outreach strategy, and decisions your team can actually implement.

What do you deliver, specifically?
Typically: a short recommendations memo, a refined program model (in plain language), suggested peer roles/boundaries, and a practical engagement plan your team can use right away.

Can you help us reach people who don’t trust systems?
Yes—that’s a core focus. We help teams reduce friction, remove stigma, and build credibility without compromising safety.

Will you replace staff expertise?
Never. We come in to complement your team—bringing an outside lens and peer-led/program-fit experience to help you strengthen what you’re already doing.
